這一切始於 2022 年 6 月的一場運輸失敗—一只裝有藝術品的木箱，從台北寄往蘇黎世，卻未能趕上展覽的開幕。因為海關無法確認箱內的具體內容（被視為一個未知、無法辨識的物件），該箱在瑞士海關被扣留，等待進一步的申報程序。儘管提交了大量文件，木箱最終雖然抵達目的地，但展覽早已結束。
此後，這只箱子一直未被打開，輾轉流轉於不同人的住所與城市之間，經歷多人的手，最終停留在德國杜塞道夫一間公寓的走廊裡，至今依然靜靜佇立。

箱子裡究竟裝了什麼？
一件藝術品的價值為何？
一只箱子會留下哪些痕跡？
當跨越邊界時，什麼會被視為「無法辨識」的物件？
穿越國界的代價是什麼？
一件物品要順利「通關」、抵達目的地，又必須被證明些什麼？

作為《Gamut Labyrinth》計畫的一部分，來自不同領域與地區的九位藝術家受邀，以這只箱子的故事、描述與影像為素材，發展出各自的創作。作為此計畫的一環，這只木箱也將再次啟程，回到原本應該被打開並展示的地—Wartsaal Wipkingen，呈現那場一年前未能實現的展覽。

Dear Santorini,
It‘s been a year since we separated. How are you doing?
I know that you have always been a low-profile person. You are used to looking back to confirm your position in the world when you are alone, and you know how to let the unfamiliar environment build a safe barrier for you.
Through friends around you, I heard that you had moved and crossed borders several times, met some people, and walked into each other's lives. I'm just a bit worried that when the alarm bell rings, will it make you unsure of how to think of home?
I’m not sure if the southern sun can reach where you are, but I hope the dry air will make the rash on your butt better, and maybe the difference in language will make you fall in love with singing again.
I picture you in such a way, but there is no other way to confirm whether this is the distance you want. Please don‘t mind when we put our eyes on you. This is how we could try to remember you.
I know your birthday has just passed. So! Happy birthday, I hope you are all well.
